Fahrenheit 9/11 opens Friday in select theaters, which is another documentary from Michael Moore. It is a film regarding the Bush administration and the September 11th attacks, but I'm sure many of you know about it. Are you planning on seeing it/what are your thoughts about Michael Moore, the movie when you see it, etc.

michael moore is a fat, brainless blob of hyperbole and self-marketing. He takes other people's research, conclusions and ideas, slaps his ugly face on the front cover and sells it on to other fat, brainless blobs of hyperbole; i.e. the american public.

More mainstream criticism of the Bush administration is by no means a bad thing.

When did Moore bashing started to be cool? I kinda skipped that one fad.

(not trying to be witty, just very curious about the viewpoint change regarding his stuff) Links?

I've always hated the smug git. I'm not calling him a walking bowl of shitflakes to look cool, I just can't stand the collosal prick.

Oh, this mainly derives that casual forum browsing years ago presented me with lots of "Columbine rocks, go watch it" and now everyone goes against the guy.

Either the sampled population rotated all its members or people realized/was told of something.

No viewpoint change, just the retards getting attention by jumping on this one early.

So I guess I'll normalize the situation by throwing in my significantly more educated, sophisticated and perfect opinion; Moore rules.

Well, you can either be a Moore fanboy and applaud him for "sticking it to the man"...

Or you can be repulsed by his bias...

Or you can appreciate his bias as being a nice alternative to "everyone else's" bias.

I'll go with #3.

Haha darknation got offended by what someone said.

It sounds more like he's envious of his popularity by what he says.

I suppose I'll see the movie eventually... actually I've been too lazy to see Bowling for Columbine, in the first place.

intellegent, thoughtful people put forward the opinions that michael moore later uses for financial gain: somehow, they are rubbered.

fat git with a talking fistula spazzes things up a bit, makes "inflammatory comments" (heh!) towards 'the man', courts contravesy and generally acts like he's the champion of the people: somehow, he makes millions.

People who tell me shit that I already know, conclusions that are basic common sense and act like they deserve the nobel scat prize piss me off somewhat.

I could see some of that, but would certainly not jump to such conclusions at that level or scale. His work does not have to be perfect... it should not; since basically it's like a presentation. Not a conclusive source.

"The man" is a weak, corrupt, oily chimpanzee the American public never voted for*... Moore gets a thumb up for sticking it to "the man". Texans, a bunch gun-toting, bible-thumping hicks, should never be presidents... Think LBJ, Bush.

*Gore received 500,000 individual votes over Bush. The Electoral System & [crooked] Supreme Court, however, had the last say...

Hey Remember that time Michael Moore said he deserved a Nobel Prize?

Of course not. So he's a film maker. Does he have his own bias? Absolutely. Are his films very critical of Republican Ideology? Sure. Is he a level headed, modest individual who presents some wild ideas? Most deffinately.

Darknation, you of all people should respect someone who wants to tell a ridiculous story.Does Michael Moore draw some radical conclusions, yes, but are alot of the things he says facts? Yes.

Darknation, a book cover doesn't tell anything about a person. by your logic, this book would be about a level headed, kind man about patriotism... rather than the angry tripe that it is.

I don't know Michael Moore personally, nor will I likely ever, but from all the interviews and appearances, he presents himself very well and is a kind speaker. I've never once heard the man actually call Bush or anyone a terrible person, in fact quite the opposite.

my point was each and every single one of his projects is self-propoganda first, subject matter second.

I'm not saying I disagree with his opinions, I just think the man himself is insufferable.

i like porn.

i never even saw columbine and i have only read one of his books ."stupid white men" i might a gree with some thing she says, but it is just one guy and i am really not gonna take things seriously unless i look at facts that back things up. if it was scince i would have an opionion for the pot. however he talks about politics, which i really know little about nor care that much about.

I'll see the movie just to see Bush making an ass of himself. He never fails to impress.

In the trailer it has a clip of GW at the golf course. "...And I hope that our troops return safely, and that these terrorists are brought to justice. Now watch me hit this drive." I'd be offended at that, but I'm more offended by the fact that the scene sums up John Q Public's outlook on the matter. Who'd have thought GW was so representative?

"Yeah, did you hear about that beheaded guy? So appaling what the world's come to today, I've half a mind to do something about it. Hand me my five-iron..."
