Linguica Posted June 28, 2004 You know I vaguely remember it, you had to set a negative sector tag to set the height of the water. But that was so long ago I think you would be hard pressed to find a copy. edit: try http://www.yeti.co.uk/archive/doomlegacy.htm 0 Share this post Link to post
iori Posted June 29, 2004 There was an example wad called 'waterlab', but I can't find it. You do need an older version of legacy (pre 1.30 for sure), and the water only works in software mode. Given that however, it was lovely stuff. //Edit: Found the wad and the old version(s). //edit2: well.. 1.29 and 1.30 dont seem to like it... odd. 0 Share this post Link to post

Jayextee Posted July 15, 2004 That water was indeed, tre cool. I'd like to see more ports with software water like that (Cause I'm a crappy computer owning mofo). 0 Share this post Link to post
Demigod Posted July 16, 2004 If you want some cool eye candy for software vavoom is pretty good, because all the gl stuff works in software. 0 Share this post Link to post

Yes, but don't forget that Vavoom's software renderer is more an OpenGL emulation in software than something resembling Doom's original one. It will show all the same problems with some special effects as the hardware renderer and in return reduces the amount of colors available. For this to be of any value the installed graphics card must be very old. On most systems it won't have any benefit whatsoever over OpenGL. 0 Share this post Link to post
iori Posted March 29, 2005 sorry to resurrect a semi-old thread, but the water works with 1.28 at the latest. http://doomlegacy.sourceforge.net/zips/legw128.zip http://doomlegacy.sourceforge.net/zips/waterlab.zip Enjoy. Unfortunatly I cant find the source for 1.28, and it's broken in every version after that. 0 Share this post Link to post
