Zolfien-Toil! Posted July 13, 2004 Some one on shacknews claims to have the sept issue of pc gamer which contains the review of doom3 http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=8150476 bullshit or not, have a look 0 Share this post Link to post
M/\C\/ile Posted July 13, 2004 Highs: Extraordinary graphics and sound; incredible tension, atmosphere, and mayhem. Lows: Some stabs at humor fall a bit flat. Bottom Line: Just as we'd hoped, it's a non-stop ride of tension, carnage and terror. A new classic. Oh we can only hope :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Chubzdoomer Posted July 13, 2004 Well homeboys - its almost here. 94% is an overly dissapointing score, but hey, were gonna be tearing up some demons with our explosive arsenal. Lets prepare to kick some ass - and may God bless us all. :) 0 Share this post Link to post

Anyways, system requirements from the article: System Requirements: Keep in mind the issue has an entire article dedicated to system requirements questions. PC Gamer recommends: 2Ghz CPU 512 MB ram Radeon 9800 5-channel audio Lowest supported GPU is a Geforce 4 MX (worse than Geforce 3) Supported cards: GF 4 MX GF 3 GF 4 GF FX (and higher) ATI 8500s, 9000s and higher W00t! Except for the 5 channel audio I'm above everything on the reccomended list :D 0 Share this post Link to post
Zolfien-Toil! Posted July 13, 2004 actually im quite comfortable with a score of 94, and besides for the "low" parts it didnt really mention any critical aspects of the game ( who the heck needs comical relief in a space horror :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Chubzdoomer Posted July 13, 2004 EDIT: NOOOO He already found it before me - now im jealous...you steal my possible chance at fame. *sniff sniff* =( 0 Share this post Link to post

Think, it is has been in production for an extremely long time, and with the help of John Carmack as one of the programming gods, I honestly expected it to get 96% or possibly higher. Either way - this game is going to kick ass. Anyone wanna bet the game was so perfect that they had to come up with that "LOWS" part of the overall rating? :) 0 Share this post Link to post
M/\C\/ile Posted July 13, 2004 Well if the lowest part is that some of the funny things aren't funny, I don't think we have much to worry about :D 0 Share this post Link to post

Honestly, theres nothing to worry about ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
Chubzdoomer Posted July 13, 2004 Endureth said:I wasn't too happy about the 20 hour gameplay bit. One thing that I dread about this is the fact that there will be dumbfucks all over the place doing "spoiler-runs" where they tell every thing in the game. The first persont that does that will be seeing a hitman at his/her doorstep the very next day... =D 0 Share this post Link to post
M/\C\/ile Posted July 13, 2004 Hey, the original doom you could complete in less than an hour :P Oh, and apparantly the magazine has a pic of the new cacodemon! :D 0 Share this post Link to post

Lectrix Posted July 14, 2004 Nice one, better get a new pc then, i recon this review is possibily true since the doom 3 box on amazon has a qoute from PC Gamer "masterpiece of the art" so i think it's possible its been reviewed. Damn why do us brits have to wait till the 13th of Aug...(if that IS the true date!) :( Ofcourse the caco is in it, hope no-one spoils it by posting pics of him on the net. 0 Share this post Link to post
SyntherAugustus Posted July 14, 2004 Heh I think D3 will run like Painkiller. That's a good thing. :) 0 Share this post Link to post

kalamari22 Posted July 14, 2004 94% means it'll be very good to fans with no previous experience. Judging by how we (the fans who've stuck with the series) will experience it, it's safe to add another 5-6 points! But that's just IMO. 0 Share this post Link to post
