i have seen the box at EB, they have had it on the shelf as pre-order for a few weeks and the cover is the same as the pic on the main page of doom3.com

The pre-order boxes look NOTHING like the retail box will.

I always found the pre-order box a bit too colorful. I´d prefer a dark, black package with the logo on it and maybe some demonic shades in the background (like the artwork with which the new logo was introduced)

One of the guys that works for EBgames who made the initial annoucement on shacknews, also said that they've had the retail boxes and manuals for weeks now, and that the retail boxes look way different and better.

Personally I'd like the front of the box to be all black with Just the Doom 3 logo on it. The back can have whatever.

Ive already seen the box, in Game in Cambridge, well its not the final design of the box (no system requirements, "PREORDER TODAY!" slapped on the front), but it has a description and a few screenshots which i assume will be carried over to the final design
