i know i am

by ready i mean atleast a 1.5Ghz (2Ghz for celeron or duron), 512MB ram and a geforece 4 (high end) or radeon 8500+

AlienWare may make "high end" systems, but you can do better for yourself if you build it yourself. It'll also be cheaper. Just ordering off of NewEgg you can get top-of-the-line everything for probably half the price of the AlienWare equivalent.

I'm ready by your definition, but not exactly by mine. :)

I'm using a 1600 MHz AMD Athlon XP but I know that's not going to be the best. If I can manage to save money, I'm getting a better video card (mine can barely run DOOM 3 even at default settings), and with leftover money, I'll get a processor if possible.

But yeah, I think the video card is more important than processor, considering thatmost people have a processor that will handle the game. New video card will likely give the biggest performance boost.

* Athlon XP 1900+
* Asus A7V (forgot model #)
* 512 megs DDR333 ram
* geforce ti200 64 megs

Getting in next week or so:

* Athlon 64 3200+
* Asus (most likely) mobo (not sure which model #...whatever friend says is good :P )
* ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256 megs (have a friend at ATI so can get this for half price (can't get the latest cards for half price though :( )
* 1 gig to 1.5 gigs of DDR 400 ram

will keep rest of PC as is...

I hope that is enough for 1024*768 @ high settings...(not highest....but high) :(
