I played the first 3 levels, will posts thoughts tomorrow. I will note this: om my AMD 1500+, 512DDR, and GeForce 6800 I was able to run it with almost no lag at 1028x768 on medium quality. It played, as figured, amazingly smoother than the "alpha". There was little difference between medium and high, with specular, normal maps on, all advanced features enabled. The "heat blur" looks fucking amazing, and it is very, very immersive.
Cons: The pistol's sound is comeplete shit. The gibbing looks like hell (just like in the x-box version, sorry guys : (
I'll post more screens tomorrw, I'm tired.

Also, no new monsters so far, I've only come across the pinky as the stronest monster, so no new ones to show yet.

August 3rd: Doom 3.
August 13th: Aliens vs. Predator in theaters
September 25th: Champions of Kamigawa prerelease (Magic the Gathering tournament for the next set, an oriental based set about mortals fighting their own gods).

And in all the between time I'll be DM'ing in Doom 3 on my network here at home, experimenting with mods for Doom 3, and more :D

Magic is still popular as ever. You just can't tell because unlike YuGiOh it doesn't go around producing movies and cartoons and figures and crap :) IT does well enough as a card game on it's own ;) (Although I heard rumors of them doing a movie about the war between Urza and Mishra, which would kick so much ass)

You're welcome : ) I would have liked to get more, but I was playing from 11:30 - 3 (that I made it only 3 levels does not imply how long the game is, just how far you can stretch it out boring your girlfriend with examining all the details over and over again :D Let me know if you guys want anything else, I'm at work again, so I'm going to read the manual now.

I was told there could be a fine. This is how it happened:
In consistency with my growing unhealthy obsession, I've been calling Bet Buy everyday (here in Wisconsin). I got a preorder for Christmas from my girlfriend, but knew that Chicago would be releasing it early on the 3rd at Midnight, so I actually planned on driving there (see my ill fated b-log). Any case, I kept calling becuase people on Planetdoom forums kept saying that the game was coming out early. In an effort to silence these rumors (and because I wanted the game badly), I've been calling throughout the week, and yesterday at my 3:15 p break, I was told that they had 144 copies in store (yay) but could not sellthem until the 2nd or they could be fined (do 'oh!). So I posted this (with the number) here and on PlanetDoom. A few posts afer mine and about an hour later, someone at PD said they called and BB told them it was on the floor. So, with my lunch break coming up, and nothing better to do than sit in my car reading, pretending I wasn't at work as I do everyday, I decided to pop on over to Best Buy. With the theme from Quake 1 blasting, and 305 horses propelling me, I encountered a VIP parking slot just as I arrived. Could this be meant I thought? So bipassing the guy who welcomes you with an agrivated but accomandating nod of the head, I proceeded to the game section where there was a display was setup. The rest *sigh* is history : )

Does the game keep progressing or does it kinda get kinda boring after a while. I mean is do they show all the shit right out of the box or is it kinda like the more game you play the more fun you have seeing cool stuff.

Well you do go from room to room killing as expected, but I didn't find it to get repetative. They introduce new enemies and weapons in a moderate pace so there's always something new around the corner, but pregrssively so you don't have everything up front. Like I said, the only monsters I've seen so far are: Handgun zombie, machine gun zombie Zsc or whatnot, standard and fatty, imp, pinky. Not very far in the game so there's not much to describe. You land, you get a mission, the gates open... pretty much what we already know. But you do access a lot of info off the PDA, interact with NPCs etc. I didn't think it was repetative though.

Why not, its possible, some people have it at this moment in time, but us brits wont play it for at least 1-2 weeks after everyone else. :(
