Wasn't that only in some of the 2002 trailers or something? It might not be in the full version, which is too bad, it coulda been cool...

It's not listed in the strategy guide, so it is not in the full game.

I think it's an early Hell Knight; one of the design sketches show this (head) design alongside the final HK.

IMO Birdman was just an early demon (maybe an early imp, but I'm not sure) that they used purely for showing off the engine and giving it a doomy type feel.

I guess they went more bug like for the demons and scrapped the birdman

Spiders in, Imps eyes and Vagary/Trite/Tick as a whole
Fly’s wings on Cherubs
Preying Mantis or something’s mouth on a Wraith
Slugs for our friend the Mancubus
And if the Sabaoth is what I recall from the trailers, he’s a big worm maggot with eyes and teeth..

Still from all the screenshots and trailers I’ve seen they all work well and look fantastic, I used to be disappointed in the Imps but I’ve grown to like them crawling around… birdman will probably be missed by me but I think I’ll still enjoy who is left in the game as soon as I can get my hands on a copy.
