The Fonz Posted August 6, 2004 Howdy folks... I'm new here. I just built a new PC... I won't go into the specs because, believe me, they are not the problem. I installed D3, started a new game... The loading screen for the first level came up. The bar filled up all the way. Then everything froze. My friend tells me that I am the third person he has come across with this problem, so I'd bet that some of you may have heard of it as well. Does anybody have any idea what I can do to fix this? Thanks. 0 Share this post Link to post
Eragon Posted August 6, 2004 Umm..when the "LOADING" bar is full, don't expect the game to immeaditly shoot into the game. TRUST ME, your specs won't help you there. You have to wait 30 seconds-2 minutes(I'm in between, my freind with uber pwnage specs takes 30 secs, while my freind with uber sucky specs takes 2 minutes.) So, just have a little patience. It is a virtue ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
The Fonz Posted August 6, 2004 Okay, scratch that. I tried it again, and this time after the level loaded, the game shut down and brought me back to my desktop. Any thoughts? 0 Share this post Link to post
Screamster Posted August 6, 2004 Make sure your video card has the latest drivers. Also, make sure you have direct x 9.0b installed(9.0c is current available at the microsoft website.) After installation of the drivers, reboot and try Doom 3. After all drivers are updated, if that doesn't work, try re-installing the game. Let us know if this works. 0 Share this post Link to post
