1st action scene

I just got Doom 3 last night. Didn't have much time to play, but something struck me funny. When I found the scientist, after his little speech and the action started. The first thing that happen is a flying skall flies right into me. Then one flies into the scientist. The scientist turns into a zombie and I shoot and kill him. Here is the question. Am I to assum that at this point since the 1st skall had contacted me, I'm a zombie at this point and don't know it? Is this part of the plot? Guess I'll find out as I go along.

Its just due to where you stood, I didnt get hit by one, what happens is one flies into the giant monitor onto one of the screens showing a marine and shows him being possesed and you can see a skull appear behind him. Then one flies into the scientist.

Or atleast thats what happened for me.

It's the beginning of the game...it's nothing that'll really dissapoint you. I mean, the invasion had to happen sometime and most of the beginning was already spoiled in the trailer.
