Help getting ZDoom/advanced wads to work?

Hi,

I can't get my copy of ZDoom to work. Whenever I try loading it I get a dialogue box saying

R_InstallSprite: No patches found for TROO frame E
GetLastError = 0

I believe I get this sometimes with more elaborate wads as well. Anybody know what I can do to fix this?

I'm trying to run v. 1.16 on Windows 98. I get the same problem in both Windows and Dos.

zdoom version 1.17c was the final dos version, IIRC.
zdoom1.22 is the latest released version - non-dos.
zdoom2.0 betas have been released; I think the latest in 2.0.6.3a.
I recommend downloading the latest zdoom version and trying again.

1.16 is incredibly old. 6 years maybe? Download new version here: http://www.zdoom.org/files/lars/63a.cab

extract it with winzip, winrar, whatever.
