DoomEdit ate my homew..er...map

Recommended Posts

I was working prestigously on my map "The Nest." I saved it, and used bsp as always. I proceeded to close the editor, open up Doom3, open the console, and type in the normal command to test my map. It didn't work. I knew everything was fine in it as it showed no leaks whatsoever. I re-open DoomEdit, and open the map, to find nothing there. All of my work and time, gone. This is the 2nd time this has happened when I've saved something and closed DoomEdit. Does anyone have any idea wtf is up with this? I'm extremely pissed right now at the loss of all my work. I also checked the autosave files and they show nothing either.

Damn man. Bummer about the map. I can only think of 2 things you can do.

1. In the event that Doom3 is overwriting your map data for some reason, make it read only.

2. Make a backup copy of the map.

I cant help much, but maybe when i get it (tommorow :D UK release!) I might be able to help.
