hexbox Posted August 14, 2004 I've been wondering, why do so many textures appear "blank"? i.e. there is no preview for them.. Are they 'alpha' layers or maps or something? 0 Share this post Link to post
BNA! Posted August 14, 2004 These are empty material shaders left over from the development process. Don't mind them, don't use them :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Doom_Dude Posted August 14, 2004 I was wondering the same. There sure is a lot of them that are just blanks. Why didn't the cull them out? 0 Share this post Link to post

Fusion Posted August 15, 2004 I highly recommend extracting all of the textures which are found in paks1 and 4 respectively, and using the 'browse' feature in paint shop pro.. i found this method pretty useful for browsing through all of doom3's resources. It makes finding textures a lot easier; rather than tirelessly browsing through each texture individually in the editor.. 0 Share this post Link to post

That's a great idea. Once extracted, you could even just 'view as thumbnails' in explorer. 0 Share this post Link to post
sirjuddington Posted August 17, 2004 If you double-click a folder in the 'media' window it'll load all the textures in that folder to the textures window (for easy browsing and selecting). 0 Share this post Link to post
