processor speed bottleneck

Playing doom 3 I realized that is slower in the game than in the
timedemo... I think that my cpu can't handle very well the game
dynamic. Does someone know if I can change settings from the console
to reduce the cpu load. The video card works well.

How about telling us how much RAM and what video card you use, that may help.

- 2.6GHz with Hyper-Threading.
- Nvidia 5900xt 128 Mb (overclocked)
- 512 Mb RaM.

The benchmark:

all the other effects on (reflection, bump, shadows...)
res 800x600

51.2 fps (second run)
