Just starting

Just bought the game and I can't get anywhere.
I was told to find a scientist, but there is no scientist around.

Could someone give me a hint what I am supposed to do before I throw away the cd's?
Was told this game was awsome, and I bet it is if I just get a grasp of what I am supposed to do and how to do it.

Pls someone help me get started.

Walk around and explore. There's basically only one path through the game (with one exception later on). You'll find what you need eventually.

I guess quest games isn't my thing
But I seriously thought this was a first person shooting game, not a police quest clone.

It's not even that much of a quest mate. You meet sarge, a security bot shows you where to go and then you simply meet the scientist after a minute or two of walking/exploring and then... well you know whats gonna happen. :D

But if your still lost, you go through the door the first security bot is next to at the start, grab your gear and head of down the corridors.

Really warms my heart.

The game is picking up, I finally got to kill stuff. Looks really good. I even got a bit scared a couple of times last night hehe.
But for the moment I'll go back to whupping some ass in bfv (where I feel @ home).
I will however continue doom3 later tonight.
The action and the grapfics looks good, but I must say it seems a bit anoying that you waste so much time listening to adiotracks, looking at vidoes and reading emails on your pda.
I realize that as a doom3-n00b I need a lot more hours of singleplay before I go online.
How is the online gaming btw?
What do you guys prefer to play? single player or online coop/DM?
In other words: Is this a single player game with online posibilities? Or is it an online game with a singleplayer bit built in
?

Hah. Doom III is the furthest away from a quest game I've ever seen in my life. Go play Diablo if you want a quest game or something. Doom is not, it's a hardcore FPS.
