Won't load from saved game

Recommended Posts

Help, I can only get doom to load from an autosave. Wont load from quicksave or normal save, all i get is a crash to desktop!

Getting a bit tedious having to start from the beginning of the leval each time!

Any help would be much appreciated [:)]

Well first answer these..

What are your computer specs?
Do you have enough space for a savegame? They are 20mb each!

well plenty of hard drive space.
System specs:
xp2100
512 pc2100
gf4200 128mb
msi6380E ultra-aru
creative sb live (wdm)

The game boots and plays fine from autosave, just crashes to desktop with any other save. When it crashes back to desktop it shows the doom console the last line is: "malloc failure for 1950089264"
Also some mention of can't load map?

Thanks for the reply, this is driving me slightly insane!!

It sounds like a ram issue. Your ram is fine though. Do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and goto task manager. What does the commit charge say? I have my max at about 1200mb. (virtual memory). Try not to have any other things going on in your computer while playing doom3.

either that or it's a doom3 bug.

Well seemed to have sorted it, started from my last autosave, quicksaved and it loaded from the quicksave without saving. Those save files must have been broken or something.

Thanks for help

They range from 2 to 20 mbs for me. But Jesus Fucking Christ! 237 mbs in autosaves and one savegame???!!! My 30 gig harddrive has just passed it's halfway storage capacity point...
