I've played almost every weapons mod, and I've never wanted to kick the creator in the nuts ever.

I'll just buy toy rifles and guns and take digitak pics of myself holding them. Thats how i'm doing most of the weapons for my (very slow now) zombie wad, but most of those are axes, hammers, knives ect. I need to find a chainsaw though...

Well, here's a description of what my guns look like (too lazy for pictures. Unless you really want them, too bad):

1. Knife (fist): I made a knife because it's kewler than the fist. It's kinda stupid looking because the fist frames are reversed so that means the lines of motion (?) are reversed, too.

1. Chainsaw: A chainsaw. Pretty rushed. I just made the blades on the saw get bigger and smaller when it's idle and I moved the sprite down when it attacks and made the blade change color.

2. Pistol: Not too bad (by my standards), but it's kinda weird looking. I put a little thing on it where the cases would come out, but without DeHackEd work, the cases would be reversed with the pistol.

3. Shotgun: Not too bad either, but I was lazy and just made the pump go up and down when it reloads and not the whole shotgun.

3. Super shotty: Really rushed. I just made like 4 lines and called it a shotty. For the 7 reload frames, I just spelled out "OMG 1337" on the screen. Almost the stupidest looking thing ever, but not quite...

4. Chaingun: I just made a machine gun (pic above somewhere in the thread). Not too bad, but kinda copying Lizardcommando's machine gun.

5. Rocket launcher: I made a green barrel with a red scope on it. I should have made it bigger because the HUD is covering it patially, a bit too much.

6. Plasma rifle: I like this one the best. I took the time to put a yellow scope (more like a piece of glass) and (shitty) venting on it. I still like it though. Kinda off centered (it's facing left but shooting straight), but it's my fav of them all.

7. BFG: Ugh...the worst thing I've done out of them all. I just made 3 lines and then put the word "BFG!" on it and put 4 dots on it that light up (unnoticeable). Worst thing I've done so far.

They look like pretty good Model -> 2D image conversions. Did you have to do alot of cleanup on them?

The BFG, Plasma Gun, and Grenades look a bit weak compared to the likes of the shotgun.

Yeah... A LOT of Cleaning... I redid the palette for wad b... forgot to touch up the grenades with the new greens though...

Edit: I've been meaning to Detail the plasma more... BFG has more detail on it than the one in doom3 already... a lot of it'll be 'patched' up on the next release.

Done with paint in approximately 1 minute 13 seconds.

Bashe, use the line tool instead of Pencil. Pencil just looks plain retarded with a mouse, and with the line tool you can make finer details.

I have to thank you for that tutorial, Scuba Steve. I was able to make a half-way decent looking rifle that with retouching might in a project I was planning on doing. No promise on if the project will ever be finished, though.

I've been meaning to ask about that, actually - I don't think your palette works in Edge. It doesn't for me, anyway (both software and GL versions used, 1.28a).

It does... Thats why the chaingun and machinegun and grenades are green instead of brown... and why the plasma shots n' stuff are that 'duke-styled' blue.

The 'a' wad has to come before the 'b' or unlabeled wad... 'b' has to come last in any case or it can really screw up textures...

Heh, its gonna basically be a kind of 'survival' wad with a ton of different-looking zombies (most in bland fatigues with palatte-swapping. They are clone-zombies produced by a mad scientist, also it means i can be lazy), but there will be a few others like traffic wardens, farmers, builders, accountants and me and my friends. Anyway, you basically start in your house and have to move around very large, flat, free-form levels hunting for weapons (almost all of them are melee), and doing missions to progress to the next area, which will be half of the old level and half 'new', plus darker. Leading to a final NOTLD standoff in a rickety shack. Or i could have posted this link:

That zombie sprite on the site has been scrapped and replaced with one with a smaller head...

Well i could do with...

More zombie variations (maybe i will post the template on the site and invite people to make variants of it, different clothes ect. Or even use it as a guide for a totally new sprite so they dont all look the same)

80's Lucio Fulci-style horror movie/disco/electro music seen in low-budget "splatter" movies (this wad wont be serious like romero's zombie films, but more based on all the cheesy italian cash-ins)

Car sprites (i will keep trying to make decent ones myself though hehe. I mainly need an Early 90's Escort, A Series 2 Land rover, A mk3 Fiesta, And a Vauxhall Cresta PA, with no wheels)

But like i said, i am working on it very slowly right now, in fact i probably havent touched it for ages, i keep watcjhing and buying splatter movies convincing myself i am "researching"

I had 4 Japanese sports car,car sprites for use in Autocombat DooM.

Nah, i really need car,car sprites of ones you actually see in Britian (not like the Getaway which had sodding Hondas, Lexuses and Dihatsu's everywhere, when did you last see a Dihatsu Sirion?). When i make Gaydoom i'll need a load of 60's and 70's ones too..shouldn't be fun (the mk1 Cortina is a bastard to draw at any time)
