Kenny McCormick Posted September 8, 2004 While running around in Hell, I came across the occasional Imp or two that looked "different". And it splattered (more) blood when it died. Anyone else notice this, and if so, what's up with them? 0 Share this post Link to post
Darkbolt Posted September 8, 2004 Hell knights and imps just look different in hell but they act the same. 0 Share this post Link to post
S1lent Posted September 8, 2004 All of the demons and zombies (or souls), excluding the Cherubs and Lost Souls, look different because they have new skins in hell often referred to as the "Tattooed skins." Basically they're just charred versions of the demon and they have demonic symbols and pentagrams burned into their flesh. But, they're the same demons nonetheless. 0 Share this post Link to post
Arioch Posted September 8, 2004 Regardless, there are apparently two types of imp. Type one is the regular old imp, walks around, throws a fireball, claws you to death. Type two is all of that, but also will crouch and leap at you. 0 Share this post Link to post
S1lent Posted September 8, 2004 Arioch said:Type two is all of that, but also will crouch and leap at you. Actually, they both do that. They just don't do it often because it's mostly all close range combat. If they had enough space, they would most likely leap at you. They do in Hell and in UAC. 0 Share this post Link to post
Amaster Posted September 8, 2004 Both types can claw, leap, and hurl fireballs. However the "crawler imp" crawls along the ground when moving (uses a slightly different set of md5anim files for its walking state) whereas the normal one just walks on two legs. Crawler imps also throw fireballs at a much higher frequency, but that may be due to other factors. There's also a third "type" used just for some cutscenes. 0 Share this post Link to post
S1lent Posted September 8, 2004 Are the crawlers the ones in Hell? It could simply be because they are in Hell and that supposedly makes them stronger. 0 Share this post Link to post
Amaster Posted September 8, 2004 They're used sporadically throughout the game. Not as much as the normal ones though. 0 Share this post Link to post
AirRaid Posted September 9, 2004 Yeah. monster_demon_imp and monster_demon_imp_crawler iirc. Which is good, since having 2 types of imp gives a bit more variety, considering the amount of imps in the game. 0 Share this post Link to post
