Version of doom made just for editing?

Wouldn't it be cool if someone made a version of doom with even more linedef tags like the GR OPEN DOOR kind, i forget the term for it but if it had tags that were'nt in any other version of doom that would make even more opportunities for levelmakers.

Most ports have added new line actions and sector types. Some also have scripting which increase what the mapper can do.

yeah wouldn't it be cool if id software would release the doom source code and people could modify it to add more linedefs and fix bugs and decrease the number of limitations..... oh wait
