Bucket Posted October 9, 2004 http://www.r50rd.co.uk/research/internal/v2i/engin/ Don't know how old this is-- but this guy managed to build a robot out of a Mini Cooper. The .mov for "Car Stopping" is probably the most impressive... Then again, I still can't tell if this is fake or not... 0 Share this post Link to post

SYS Posted October 9, 2004 I don't see how you could use the majority of a mini cooper towards that kind of application. I imagine the drive train would make it "walk" or drive rather. But aside from that and the metal the car was made out of, little else would be used. The arm would require alot of servo mechanisms and gas struts. There are struts on the trunk and hood, but it still wouldn't be sufficient. The transxels might be used to make the forearm rotate but I seriously doubt that this entire robot was composed of parts from a modern mini automobile. 0 Share this post Link to post
deathbringer Posted October 9, 2004 Who rememberes that awesome Honda Accord ad where they made this huge system of rolling cogs and falling bits and things, they made all of that from 3 whole cars, and some extra bits (plus a trailer, and a complete one at the end) 0 Share this post Link to post
