thaswiftness Posted November 16, 2004 Hello, im trying to run doom 3 on this system: Athlon XP tbred B at 2005mhz 512mb kingston value ram nVidia geforce 4 MX 420 epox 8rda3i motherboard I know its not great, particularly the video card, but it does fit the minimum requirements, and over at hardocp in the 'hardocp hardware guide' (http://www2.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjQ0LDU= they tested it with a system wich appears to be even less powerful then mine and averaged 20 fps on the Enpro level, wich is supposed to be one of the more demanding levels. I'm getting an average of about 7 on any level with all settings turned down as low as possible, and all advanced options off except bump mapping. I cant seem to find anything that would cause doom to go this slow, its hardly playable like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thaswiftness 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted November 16, 2004 How much Anisotropic filtering and Anti-Aliasing do you have on? Tried updating the drivers lately? That's what I can think of now. 0 Share this post Link to post
thaswiftness Posted November 16, 2004 I have AA/AF off, and the quality set to 'High Performance' in the nVidia control panel, using the newest drivers (have also tried omega drivers). 0 Share this post Link to post
AirRaid Posted November 19, 2004 Is that RAM DDR? SDR RAM really kills off Doom3's framerates. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted November 19, 2004 The Epox EP-8RDA3i is an nForce 2 board, so that is DDR RAM. 0 Share this post Link to post
