Bucket Posted November 19, 2004 http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=164892 People have been spamming this link on /. trying to get it approved as news. The DE version of Firefox includes an UPGRADED version of the eBay search engine-- helping the user by sending critical information on his most frequenty searched-for items to the company-- in order to adjust its customer service and advertising angle according to the user's needs. Hmm. They used to have a name for this kind of software... what was it again? 0 Share this post Link to post

Bucket Posted November 21, 2004 No, of course not. If you're unsure about what Fredrik is saying, refer to the Starbucks episode of South Park. Or in other terms: you get what you pay for. You may devote your life to open source because you can get stuff for free, but try devoting your life to making a Maya clone never expecting to make a dime off of it. Many open source programmers shrug off the fanbase of said community, seeing as how 75% of them consume and suggest changes without the slightest inclination to LEARN TO PROGRAM AND IMPLEMENT THE CHANGES THEMSELVES. 0 Share this post Link to post
