How would one skin?

the skin files for the monsters are found in pak002.pk4, look in the directory:

To make a custom skin, you'll have to create a directory in /base/ called skins.

To get a custom skin noticed by Doom3, you'll have to provide a .skin file. Look at the skin files in pak000.pk4 to get the idea on how its done.

I just changed the colours of a zombies arms, legs, torso tga files in models. How do you get the game to use these instead of the old ones. Does this requir you to do what you said about the skin files.
