Using gimp to convert graphics from/to hexen/heretic/doom palettes

I discovered this wonderful nugget of knowledge that I would like to pass on. Once use select which palette you want to convert to make sure to select 'No Color Dithering.' All the other options make the image all pixelated and shit.
