Renegade graphics DoomED?

Recommended Posts

I found this DoomED made by renegade graphics from my old cd that had all kinds of Doom stuff and I found it very easy to use, but you are only allowed to make 25 sectors with the demo version which stops you from making very large and cool maps. Now that I thought of finding out more info about it I cant find anything. Their sites don't exist and theres no info about the whole company in anywhere on the net. I have googled with "Renegade graphics","DoomED","Egoed" and with every possible you just can. I have looked every possible p2p or bittorrent sites and no luck yet.

Now I'm not asking anyone here to do anything illegal, but can anyone give me info on where to find/buy the full version or anything about Renegade graphics. It is of course very old company and its products seem to be abandonware these days, just that you don't find it on any site or abandonware site.

I've already tried there and the theres only the demo version.

The point is now that DoomED is shareware but the authors (Renegade graphics) have disappeared and theres no way of buying the full version. DoomED is over 10 years old. So if anyone could give any hints or something on where I can possibly find the full version or BUY it.

Hehe, I used to use this editor exclusively. I made some huge, complex maps with it! I paid 50 bucks for the full version back in '95 and was promised upgrades when they were available but never got any. It's got a nice interface, easy to use, but it's very buggy. I have version 2.86 registered.
Still works on my 98 box, and I use it once in a great while for old time's sake.

Joe Pantuso, the creator of the software doesn't have the company anymore, and it is abandonware. I just wish the source was around because it's a good editor, just needs work.

Yeah, although it's not a bad editor for its day Renegade is time cosuming and whacked out sometimes (and I don't think it will work well on winxp). Deepsea and Doombuilder can do everything it can faster plus much more.

For me there was always couple of things from doors to something more complex things that I could only do with renegade editor. Thats why I got addicted to it totally. I find wadauthor to be another good program but its development was stopped back in 96. Why do I always like programs that are ten years old and no longer developed. :P Although the author of wadauthor has continued the project again, theres no sign of new releases yet.

And I think renegade is the fastest editor I've ever used. I think deepsea is very time consuming and its interface is damn annoying. Doom builder was better than deepsea (and free) but there were again couple of things that I got never working no matter how long I tried. All these things were easy to do in doomED.

Yeah people get on Deepsea about its interface all the time, it's like the don't realize it's fully customizable...

But I know how you feel about using another editor, I was bummed when I had to pick another one, I used wadauthor for a while but found it clunky and slow, then I went to Deepsea and after a little practice it's very powerful and fun to work with.
