Snuff films?

I've posted this on another Doom 3 forum. If you don't know what they are, it's films depicting people being murdered, some fake, some real. It's even considered a fetish. It's really f***ed up if you ask me. What do you people think of this and why would they do this sick crap?

Why would you ask something like this? The only reason I can come up with you asking on more than one forum is that you've got some desire to find out it's not such a big deal.

I read somewhere where some experts looked at the films and said that they just operated on camera angle tricks and the like to give the illusion that the person is being killed.

From the first point that I heard of snuff films, I determined that they were totally disgusting and I would like nothing to do with them whatsoever. If it's a full-length movie depicting the clearly fictional death of one person and the events surrounding it (like, say, a mystery film), it's not so bad, because you know that nobody has really died. But if it's real, then not only is it illegal (Thou Shalt Not Kill!), it's not something that should be taken lightly.

And that's all I'm going to say, because I needn't say any more.

"Snuff" film has a history that practically goes back to the production of full-motion films in general, and was fairly big in the sixties. It's mostly considered an art, rather than pornography, assuming that's what you were thinking.
