Metal mainly.

Death, Black, Viking\Folk\Fantasy, some old Thrash, Power\Progressive and little bit of Industrial.

Faveourites bands amongst the genres would have to be: Opeth, Immortal, Burzum, Darkthrone, Edge of Sanity, Ensiferum, Symphony X, Bal-Sagoth, OLD-Slayer.

I also like alot of game OST's such as FF7 and Sonic 2 (and ofcorse) Doom soundtracks.

Enjoy the odd rock from time to time, a bit of old Pink Floyd (animals) and AC/DC.

Sometimes I even listen to a bit of hard\dancy trance music (ohnoes).

Avant-Garde ... Mr. Bungle

Not sure I'd agree with that classification, they're quite a bit more pop-structured than what's generally called avantgarde, and it seems most sources wouldn't classify them as such either. Although they do have Trevor Dunn, who's fairly acknowledged for his avantgarde jazz, and they are influenced a bit by John Zorn, so maybe it's not too far a stretch.

Since two months back, mainly Bach. Music was perfected 250 years ago, so why settle for less?

Nerd :P

Anyway, my taste in music is a little difficult to describe. All I'll say is that for me it has to scientifically qualify as "music" (yes, anybody who's taken basic high school physics knows that music is scientifically defined). In other words, no dumb guitars, random drum beats or repeating drum loops, stuff like that.

That being said, I won't actually list what artists/groups I listen to since you'd be here until tomorrow night at least reading my list.

Classic Rock, Blues, and Psychedelic. Most music from the 60's and 70's. I like a lot of the bands from the British Invasion era. Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are my favourites.

I've taken basic high school physics but I must have forgotten this one. What's the scientific definition of music again?

What would physics have to do with defining music?

Everything. And I do mean everything.

Except for country. I can't stand country.

My sentiments exactly. Anything good and I'll listen to it. Recently though, I'm obsessed with the Dimmu Borgir track "Progenies of the Apocalypse". It's so good, I just can't explain.

What band is that? As in, what genre?

Dimmu Borgir is a symphonic metal band. Formerly Black Metal (they sold out in the late 90s).

'Progenies of the Apocalypse' is a sub-mediocre song, especially when compared to their older works.

Let's not forget that the Big Bang itself was really just a great big musical instrument. Or something. :p

Ah, I bet that was the angelic choir.

From Paradise Lost, Book VII, Agrument:
Raphael at the request of Adam relates how and wherefore this world was first created; that God, after the expelling of Satan and his Angels out of Heaven, declar'd his pleasure to create another World and other Creatures to dwell therein; sends his Son with Glory and attendance of Angels to perform the work of Creation in six dayes: the Angels celebrate with Hymns the performance thereof, and his reascention into Heaven.

When I read that book I recalled Tolkien's AinulindalΓ«.
