Stepmania Doom

So I downloaded stepmania which is quite fun, and got a Doom DWI (dance with intensity) file. Insanely hard.

So do you have to step on the arrows to kill incoming demons or something? Or are you dancing the the hiddin track in PSX Final Doom?
