Recommended Posts

Well what does everybody think about god mode? I think its awesome!!!

Are there any places in Doom where you ever need to use it? I never use it unless I'm having lots of trouble.

No God mode for me unless I save right before the moment of death by some twist of fate. At that point, I pull down ZDoom's console and use its cheat, kill the offending monster, cheat for a buffer of 10 health, then turn it off and save the game again. As for tough situations, I'll use SV_FastWeapons and Infinite Ammo over god mode any day.

Dude, DOOM wouldn't even be around today if it weren't for "god mode."

God mode is the greatest invention of our specicess.

God mode is good and all, but freeze mode + fly + infinite ammo is 10 times better, especially for getting back at that stupid Revenant who killed you because you THOUGHT all of his missiles were gone.

God Mode is for those of us who fail at playing Doom.

No

I only use it if I end up saving just before I die, or in combination with noclip/fly when checking my map for bugs that aren't visible in DB.

Well I've already beaten the game so it should be perfectly legeal. Thats my theory anyway.

It's your right and your ability to cheat if you want, but beating the game over and over doesn't change the fact that using God Mode is cheating.
CHEAT CHEAT CHEAT

A long time ago, before I knew all the levels inside out, somebody told me that IDDQD was written in blood on the walls of some secret area.

Um...Well, that depends. There's only one place where there exists a high probability that you'll need it....Doom2: Mission 30: The Icon Of Sin.
Otherwise, if you use it before that particular point, it just takes the fun away :p

If i had to give my opinion....i think all cheats suck.
A good player doesn't need them, just save your game before doing something stupid:)

Yes, because "specicess" is a real word. Burble.

It's bold for a reason, silly.

I normally IDCLEVXX at the start of a new level because it's a quicker way to get a pistol start than using -warp XX.

Otherwise, I only use cheats for testing purposes or planning routes. I regard savegames as a form of cheating.

God mode? Certainly not!
Degreelessness mode, that's a whole 'nother ballgame(when testing mods, anyways). ;P
