Shapeless VS MmM: Doom 3 Pinky Demon Showdown

A short while ago, I challenged Shapeless to a Doom 3 Pinky Demon modeling/sculpting contest, and he accepted. The basic idea is that we both make a Pinky Demon figure, and then the rest of the DoomWorld members judge who did the better job. As I'm sure there will be a separate voting thread eventually, feel free to make comments here until then. Shapeless has indicated it'll take him at least a month to get the front end of his Pinky done, so you'll have to wait some time to see his rendition.

Shapeless: I remember you commented on your concern about the difficulty of making the legs, but I actually found the opposite to be true: The organic front section of the body took longer to do and was more challenging than the robotic hindquarters. Your experience might be different of course, as you'll be working in a different media all together, but I thought I'd share my observations just the same. My two day estimate of how long it would take to do mine was right on target - I made the fleshy front end Thursday evening and the robotic back end Friday morning/early afternoon.

I agreed to the challenge if someone can provide some good refernce pics of the pinky demon model with just the normal map. NO skin texture. my thread asking for such pics has gone to post hell. so I'll see if I have better luck at another forum.

BTW I like the fan fic you created for your pinky. the hind legs never getting tired, and a leak rendering them useless.

I'm sure he can. But when it comes down to it, you're really just comparing apples to oranges. MmM and Shapeless use two different mediums.

Well I finally got a power house computer. I just need to install a ton of crap to it. all I have now is Windows XP x64 edition.
