gatewatcher Posted May 28, 2005 I'm going away to college this year, and I'm going to drag my box there with me, but I was also thinking about buying some inexpensive type of laptop. I'm not looking for anything in it except the hardware, heh, just something I can load Fedora and Openoffice into. Is there a good online store to find something like this? 0 Share this post Link to post
Alboroto Posted May 28, 2005 I just bought a Dell inspiron 8500 in $500 found at froogle.com Maybe if you try using the price range option you might find something. 0 Share this post Link to post

pritch Posted May 31, 2005 heh. I bought a barebone notebook from Medion for £500 and it was a DOA, so they gave me a £1000+ one for no more money. This was last September. It's a P4 3.2ht, 60gb, 512, mobile 9100 gfx (OK), dvd re-writer, card reader, just a desktop replacement that I wanted but couldn't have afforded initially. So I was happy :D 0 Share this post Link to post
