Update Level LostCity

Recommended Posts

I hope that those hi-res textures don't make this a huge download, because this looks good.

This looks incredible! I love those textures, they remind me of an old brewery, for some reason. :-)
However, I do think the skyline with the skyscrapers clashes somewhat with the texturing...

Excellent. The old-england like textures with the city skyline remind me of London actually :)
Can't wait to play it!

Looking good so far.

Have you considered setting this level at night? The sky at least would suggest so. This particular scence is looking a bit bright compared to the sky. You could add a slight blue/purple ambience to the outdoor areas using coloured sector lighting.

I would suggest to reduce the amount of yellow in the light given off by the wall lamps as currently they detract from the realistic looking scene somewhat (make them more white).

This is so good that if someone would say to me this was for doom2 I would't believe it.
Nice screens sitters, another one to look foward too.

Yes I want do something about the lighting , I try some coloured sector lighting. Now I don’t want to use to much dynamic lightning, be course I want to make a lot of streets and buildings, so I make much use of sector lightning and dynamic lightning for the feeling ( maybe it must be a little bit darker and blue/purple, I try it.)

And everybody else thanks for the comment I appreciate it very much.
And yes I take care about the proportions in the level.

Greetings.

BTW You can change the player's view height via a console cvar in Doomsday. I can't recall the name off-hand though.

Ok DaniJ I have changed the sector lightning ( blue/purple) and the lightning of the lamps and the skin of the barrels. And yes I think it is more realistic now.

Looks alright, altough how can a dark city scene have so much ambient white light?

It is not a dark city, it is a twilight city.

If you took the hud, gun, and skybox out, I would almost swear that was a photograph instead of a screenshot of a doom level.

Looking quite awesome there, sitters.

I do have to agree with some people that the night skybox just doesn't fit though, I think a early day skybox would be better. Right as it's just getting bright enough to see, but the lights haven't gone off yet for the day. Up to you though, of course, just giving you some suggestions.

Keep up the great work. :)

Hmm, this level seems to have quite a bit of variety to it. Either one of the skys are fine sitters. This looks like a Half Life 2 map. Which defenetly isn't a bad thing.

Your updated screens look very impressive, that new sky is an big improvement.
It looks very realistic now, its kinda hard to believe that this is an doom level.
Can you make vehicles too, that are parked along side of the road that would look nice.
What is it going to be an outside level, or can you go into those buildings too.
Keep it up your doing a good job here.

Yes I have one but he has getting a accident. I make the street now a little bit more a fighting street, and yes you can go into the buildings also.
