melphen Posted July 6, 2005 I think the title says it all. I have Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, and Final Doom right now and I would love to make sure they were all of these are in the latest version. Mostly because I want to try to play Doom online again. 0 Share this post Link to post
melphen Posted July 6, 2005 Ok, I found a program that helped me, the problem is it tells me that my version on Doom 2 is not valid. I got it off a Doom 2 disk that I paid for so I know that can't be right. Help anyone? 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted July 6, 2005 Try checking with this validator: http://www.excelex.net/doompat.html And if the wad is out of date, then that page also has patches to upgrade it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Darkman 4 Posted July 6, 2005 Run each .wad in doom2.exe. It'll probably crash if you're using XP, but the screen that appears before the game loads will still work. If the number that's on the big blue bar on the top of the screen says anything less than 1.9, then you need to patch the game. 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted July 7, 2005 Compare the exact file size in bytes with the list given in this post and then use whatever patches are needed. Note that the patches will only work with official versions of the game. If you have altered your files in any way, then you will need to reinstall the games off the original disks/CDs. Darkman: I think that will only tell you what version the exe is. 0 Share this post Link to post
