khartael Posted August 26, 2005 This might've been asked a dozen times before, or maybe it's outright obvious and I'm missing something, but I've a problem. Me and some friends of mine decided to hook up and play co-op through the classic Doom games recently, through the Legacy source port. Ultimate Doom went just fine, but we've encountered a problem when trying to play Doom 2: Deathmatch weapons are all over the friggin' place. And we're not very happy about that.. Is there a command line to fix this, or am I missing something? Thanks in advance. 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted August 26, 2005 Those weapons show up on multi-player (not just DeathMatch) just like the additional monsters do. You just weren't overly observant in DOOM; the multi-player weapons are there in Cooperative too, except they aren't as obvious. You find a Chaingun and a Rocket Launcher in E1M1, for example. Some engines allow you to remove them with console commands. I don't recall if Doom Legacy does, but it might. Check the supported console commands. Note also that if you remove the additional weapons, you'll still have the additional monsters, which also make a bigger difference in DOOM II than in DOOM. 0 Share this post Link to post
khartael Posted August 26, 2005 Oh, alright. Thanks a ton! :) Doom Legacy doesn't appear to have this as far as I can tell, so I'll take a shot at ZDoom. Also, additional monsters are all the better. I find Ultra Violence to be a bit too easy. 0 Share this post Link to post
DomRem Posted August 26, 2005 ZDoom does remove the multiplayer weapons on co-op, which is good for Doom 2. However, I would recommend not using it for PWADs such as Scythe 2, which contains multiplayer weapons that are meant to be used on co-op. 0 Share this post Link to post
khartael Posted August 26, 2005 We're probably going to end up using jDoom. Great port, and has everything we need. 0 Share this post Link to post
