If you use it and they get mad you can tell them it's their own fault for not saying you couldn't.

Using the music in a "demo" would seem to apply to game add-ons. So, email the webmaster.

Most likely. Given the use of "demo" in that clause, it's more than likely not referring to a game demo as something from the "demoscene". Ie: the guys that do insane music/animations in realtime using file sizes varying from 256 bytes to 64 Kilobytes and the larger scale demo which commonly has a ceiling of about 20MB.

My interpretation of that could be wrong though, however I think it is possible to use anysong from there within reasonable use. It's the reason why sites like that exist normally.

An add-on is much more like a demo (or could be considered an amateur demo of ones game design skills using a prexisting engine) than a mere broadcasting. Or perhaps it's "worse" than a demo, since it's tied to a commercial game, while a demo could be much more independent.

Not to mention this:

If you do wish to use the music for any purpose but your own personal use, you should contact the author and/or the appropriate copyright holder(s). MODPlug Central will be happy to assist you in attaining these permissions, you may contact us at webmaster@modplug.com.

No matter what one does, if it isn't personal, they ask one to contact the authors. DOOM wads aren't personal if they are distributed.
