Incoming folder- what is it?

what is the difference between the incoming folder I hear people talking about and newstuff?

mainly concerning this quote in News.

The reason incoming's zips haven't been moved into the rest of the site at all this week is because Ty does that manually, and Ty's house is probably underwater.

These are directories on the /idgames archive FTP server.

Incoming is where you upload your WADs. This directory is write only and you can't download anything from there. They get moved to newstuff when they have been verified by Ty.
