WinTex In XP Problem

I used Wintex on my XP before and it worked perfectly and now its saying Windows can't find it. Is there anyway to fix problem?

Did you run the actual program or a shortcut to it? It may be broken.

I didn't shortcut it. I don't understand how Windows can't find the program.

Can't find VBRUN300.DLL?

It basically just says Windows cannot find WinTex.EXE. I have that VBRUN300.dll and THREED.VBX file too.

Does it say something like CONFIG.NT or AUTOEXEC.NT is unsuitable for running the program?

Have you tried re-extracting the WinTex zip file into the directory?

Yes and I still got the same message.

OK, so what EXACTLY is that message?

Windows cannot find 'C:\WinTex\WINTEX.EXE'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.


My brother told me that it might not be working becuase of some security thing.

One more question: do you run it double-clicking on the executable from explorer or from a command-line? If the latter, try to do the former :) Otherwise, I'm out of ideas.

Give 5.0 a shot. I zipped it up with all required files. Works fine for me on XP.

Didn't work. My computer is doing something weird and thats why I have this problem with this program. Thanks for your help Pickle.
