Technical Darkness [new project]

hey guys! im finally back into doom!!! anyways, here s my latest project that will also appear at WIP as soon as it is approved by the admin.

here is my only progress so far:



this is going to be a big handgun that you will also be able to duel weild.

im also hiring help, you can go to the WIP for more information.

Nice weapon :) I like that specular. I'll keep my eye on this project.

Also, why did You leave Conflict Omega? Just curious.

i didnt leave the CO team... :/ what makes you think that? who says i cant have a little doom on my free time >:D

shotguns ARE SHOTGUNS!

theres
PISTOLS (also known as handguns)
SHOTGUNS
RIFLES
AUTOMATIC RIFLES
MACHINE GUNS
EXPLOSIVES
ROCKETS
etc...

you get it... a shotgun is a shotgun...
and btw, that gun i just made, is no longer a pistol, its a stubby shotgun.

ok, more progress on this project...


some, kinda automatic weapon, or projectile launcher. not sure what i want this to be...


some texture set that i was working on for this project.

IM LOOKING FOR:
a coder( dehacked, decorate, zdoom scripting, custom HUD coding, etc.) i need a pretty good coder.

level editor( good with zdoom)

extra help( i need someone who can find good sounds for this wad.)

This one is nice, looks like a buffed Grenade Launcher, keep spitting them out, I'll keep identifying them!

pretty cool level. my only recommendations:
1.when you go under the water, you should have added a green fog, or a green color sector.
2.a bit more details could do this map good.

but i liked everything else. i take it you know how to script? like create cutscenes and such?

i cant actually script and i dont think you can do green fog/lighting
in doom builder

can anybody please teach me scripting and/or tell me a better editor to use

well, yes you can actually do the fog and coloring in doom builder.
it all has to do with scripting however. you have to use commands in the scripting to trigger the tag of the sector you want to have the desired effect.

i can script pretty well. actually i can do almost all the functions that come standard with zdoom.

why not go to http://www.zdoom.org/wiki/index.php?title=Level_Editing for tutorials on level editing.

btw, when you do level editing for zdoom, you want your doom builder set to "zdoom(doom in hexen format)".

ther ya go! have fun!

when you think you are ready to create a "semi-complicated" zdoom level, just say so, and ill send you some textures and some instructions, and if you pull through, then you will become part of the team making this project happen!

I have to say I like the style of the weapons you have shown us.

I humbly request that you (or anyone who uses them) to put forth the effort to fully and accurately implement them into the game (if just a weapons mod) or the levels you are making.

I would hate to be dissapointed with extremely over/underpowered and unbalanced weapons ruining what could have been...the only good weapons mod I would have seen.

well, sausage, i dont know what that last post was about, but 1 gun per map is perfectly fine with me! just make sure its a good map.

you can go ahead and make me a map if you want to. it dont really matter what the theme is. just make me one if you feel up to it. use whatever zdoom skills you have, and then i will make you that gun you wanted. you know, the medievil weapon that you wanted? :) fair trade?

well, your going to need to edit with zdoom(doom in hexen), cuz thats pretty much the only way to get all the cool effects that zdoom has to offer.

you should do this: (this is how i do mine)

start up doombuilder, and go to your files, go down to doom(doom in hexen format), you browse for the doom2.wad to use. then it should work when you start a new wad.

however, zdoom editing is FAR different than regular doom. you have to use tons of different tags to get doors to function, along with tons of other functions.

tell me how it works out...
