Corrupted Marine Posted September 27, 2005 no i mean like this: http://www.wadsinprogress.info/index.php?a=showshot&wad=642&shot=2 you see the sloped lighting? this wad is in skull tag, but skull tag uses a zdoom format. also. i just played this project called combat.wad made for zdoom, and it used some sloped lighting on it. i just dont know how to do it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dutch Doomer Posted September 27, 2005 The link does not work for me, can you post an screenie here if its not too much trouble. 0 Share this post Link to post
ShaneAmp Posted September 28, 2005 it said they used black textures and sloped sectors to give the effect. So it would only work if the dark area is completely dark, and you wouldnt beable to have it in any area that you have to walk through. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mancubus II Posted September 28, 2005 http://www.zdoom.org/wiki/index.php?title=ExtraLight I believe that will help you achieve the effect. The actual wiki page isn't the most informative but it does have an example wad. 0 Share this post Link to post
Corrupted Marine Posted September 30, 2005 the lighting effect is totally real time lighting. no fake textures or anything made this effect. this was real lighting in these screens. what i mean by the sloped lighting is this: a light on the ceiling, as it gets closer to the ground, the diameter is bigger. like in the original doom, if you make a square sector, you can make it a certain light amount. but with this, its like the sector is an expanded beam of light. anyways, thanks all for your help! :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Jehar Posted September 30, 2005 This is, afaik, simply the creation of another sector to fake the expanding beam. To illustrate: Square sector with light texture with n brightness. Another square sector with ceiling texture with less brightness. Transfer light to floor for added effect. 0 Share this post Link to post
