shotgunmasacre2 Posted October 1, 2005 I have started working on a solo megawad(my first). I have one little question, when I entered the lumpname (MAP01) it says that the level is Enrtyway( the first level of Doom 2). How do I name the level as a custom name. Also, look for the first few maps of the wad to come soon( once I figure out how toname them with custom names!) 0 Share this post Link to post
Carnage Posted October 1, 2005 It depends, are you using the original doom.exe or a modified version of doom (legacy, zdoom, edge) 0 Share this post Link to post
shotgunmasacre2 Posted October 1, 2005 I am using the doom2 wad with zdoom to test and legacy to play the levels. 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted October 1, 2005 The titles that you see in the intermission screen are graphics found in the doom2.wad. Just replace them with your own appropriate graphics, but keep in mind, this will not change the map name in the automap. If you are using an engine that supports Boom, then you can use a .bex patch that changes the appropriate strings (see here: http://www.doomworld.com/eternity/engine/dehref.html#strings ) If using ZDoom (parent or child) or any other port that supports MAPINFO (e.g. Legacy and jDoom I think), then you can just use said MAPINFO lump that should automatically build your intermission graphics and replace the automap string for you, making the process much less painful (see here: http://www.zdoom.org/wiki/index.php?title=MAPINFO ) 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted October 1, 2005 Dehacked is the best bet as it is supported by 99% of all ports (aswell as vanilla doom). 0 Share this post Link to post
Planky Posted October 1, 2005 Legacy doesnt support MAPINFO (I dont think jdoom does either) in the current release. Either use dehacked (works on most ports) or use fragglescript for legacy. 0 Share this post Link to post
