TheLazenby Posted October 3, 2005 Which Doom (classic) game do you think has the best music? I'd definitely vote for the SNES version. It might just be because I played that one first, but I just can't stand the MIDI renditions in the PC version... I kinda like the "Doom 64" music too, if you can call it that. (Some of those 'tunes' were actually reused in "Quake 64" as well, since that version didn't have the NIN soundtrack. However, the N64 music for Ziggurat Vertigo is the single coolest song I've heard in a video game, *ever*.) 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted October 3, 2005 3DO Doom had the best music, which was the only good thing about the game. 0 Share this post Link to post
Koko Ricky Posted October 3, 2005 The dark ambient tunes on the Playstation verson are really underrated and have a lot of atmosphere. As someone who makes ambient music myself, I think the tunes were put together extremely well. 0 Share this post Link to post
Nikanoru Posted October 3, 2005 3DO Doom, hands down. I really do like the ambience in some of the other Dooms though, but not musically. 0 Share this post Link to post
MacWadMaker Posted October 3, 2005 I like the MIDIs for Ultimate Doom. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guardian Posted October 3, 2005 When it comes to the music, it's all about the originals. I'm sure all the other ports and whatnot have sounded great over the years -- but since I never got any of the console versions, I can't make a comparison. :-P What about favorite music file? Personally, it has to be E1M8 when it comes to an id-team, and Wormhole's music from Final DOOM. TeamTNT's Incarus had some great files, too. 0 Share this post Link to post
