DarkFoxSoldier20 Posted October 5, 2005 How can I get the Doomsday engine to work with Zdaemon? 0 Share this post Link to post
wildweasel Posted October 5, 2005 Short answer: That's impossible. Long answer: ZDaemon and Doomsday are both completely seperate source ports - getting the two to work in conjunction is about as easy as getting Quake 1 and Quake 2 to play a network game together (and no, Generations Arena is not the same thing). Even merging the sources isn't an option, because not only does ZDaemon not have a source release (to my knowledge), it is also based on an almost completely different engine from that of Doomsday. So there you have it. 0 Share this post Link to post
DarkFoxSoldier20 Posted October 5, 2005 It would be nice wouldn't it? Playing online with smoother and sharper graphics... 0 Share this post Link to post

DarkFoxSoldier20 Posted October 6, 2005 Why not? It may make online play more smooth while gameplay. I haven't seen it done yet so how can we know? 0 Share this post Link to post
Relica Religia Posted October 6, 2005 Future versions of Doomsday will have better muktiplayer support. I hope. 0 Share this post Link to post
DarkFoxSoldier20 Posted October 6, 2005 Lemme go off topic so I don't have to create another topic. Would it be possible to change doom's music from midi to MP3? It was a good idea that Id software completely changed the music on the PSX version of doom to a more ambient type surrounding. You think it would be possible that Dooms music could change to MP3 instead or midi? 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted October 6, 2005 If the source port you use supports it, yes. For example, I use the MP2's available here on Doomworld directly with ZDoom. 0 Share this post Link to post

wildweasel Posted October 9, 2005 I guess from the looks of it your video card (or, if I'm seeing this correctly, your motherboard's onboard video chip) doesn't support OpenGL. There's not a lot you can do about that outside of buying a new card that does support it. Otherwise, you might look for new drivers for what you have already, though I don't believe that's the case... Just don't quote me on that. I've been known to be wrong. 0 Share this post Link to post
DarkFoxSoldier20 Posted October 9, 2005 Doomsday worked before. I moved the folder to another folder and it went fretzy on me. It wouldn't run cause I moved it. So I re-installed the program and it still gave me the same thing. So I deleted it and reinstalled. Now it's giving me this. Doomsday runs fine on a GeForce2. But I'm about to upgrade to something I can afford which is the GeForce4 FX5500. But I am certainly possitive it can run with GeForce 2 since I don't run Jdoom. 0 Share this post Link to post
