Captain Red Posted October 29, 2005 I'm trying to import some new flats, but they keep comming up all "tootie-fruty". I've never dome this kind of thing before, sp there's a good chance I did it wrong: All I basicly did was import the flat into the wad between F_start and F_end. Have I missed a step? 0 Share this post Link to post
Joe Posted October 30, 2005 As i was told by xenophon a while back, you'll have to "convert to doom flat". I know how to do this in xwe at least. What you wanna do is load your new flat then go into image... convert to doom flat. This option wont be there if it's already in the f_start/f_end markers though iirc. Also you may want to put the flats between ff_start and f_end instead. Hope that helps. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dutch Doomer Posted October 30, 2005 Have you tried to rename your flat to an existing doom flat, I believe that works too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Vegeta Posted October 30, 2005 Is the flat in DOOM palette? Is the flat a gif or pcx file? 0 Share this post Link to post
fraggle Posted October 30, 2005 The flat lump should be exactly 4096 bytes long. If it isn't, you have imported it wrong. Also, flats in PWADs should be between markers named "FF_START" and "F_END". 0 Share this post Link to post

Joe Posted October 30, 2005 Guide for retards to avoid tutti fruiti: 1) Open your wad in XWE 2) Load your flat 3) Select your flat then look in the "image" dropdown menu at the top 4) Select "save as doom flat" 5) Create 2 markers, FF_START and F_END 6) Put your flat between them 7) Test 8) See it works 9) Say "ah" 0 Share this post Link to post
