Xtife Posted November 3, 2005 heyas been away from playing doom for a few months just wanted to see if anyone could point me in the direction of any of the good wads from 2005 and any good kaiser wads in general? iv heard some of his levels were pretty popular at the beginning of the year 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted November 3, 2005 The three best wads of this year so far would probably be "Simplicity" "Suspended in dusk" and "Scientist 2" (I haven't actually played the last one though) That's all the wads that I can recall for this year. 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted November 3, 2005 Don't forget Kama Sutra and Scythe 2 (best two of the year IMO, in that order). I'd probably rank Scientist 2 third after them. Also Armadosia is worth a look. 0 Share this post Link to post
Xtife Posted November 3, 2005 awesome :) thanks guys i have all of those, except suspended in dusk and scientist 2 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted November 3, 2005 My favorite so far has been Hi-Tech Hell. Great gameplay and probably one of the best looking WADs ever made. 0 Share this post Link to post

It was an awesome effort to put something like this, but I couldn't play it long. After all it was just another Doom-Wad, in which most of the parts could have been done without 3D floors as well. I know I'm using 3D_Floors alot myslef, but you'll come to see that this is somehow different... and I'm getting fed up with wads that don't present new gameplay. Also, the music was not changed, which is a great drawback. That's why I enjoyed playing Simplicity, but not HTH 0 Share this post Link to post

It took me less than 5 minutes to define music for it that fit better. Half of the music that comes in PWADs doesn't suit my taste anyway. That's why I enjoyed playing Simplicity, but not HTH Depends on your idea of fun. I liked the fights in HTH much better than those in Simplicity. I'm not a big fan of traps. 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted November 4, 2005 Ah, right. I forgot about high Tech Hell2 and those others mentioned. 0 Share this post Link to post

And the UAC story is so often used, that they could have just not put it in here. You know, there are tastes, and tastes. 0 Share this post Link to post

HTH2 just didn't have atmosphere. No? I thought the atmosphere was great. I like tech bases though. And the UAC story is so often used, that they could have just not put it in here. Who cares? And the typical path from somewhere into Hell is not? 0 Share this post Link to post
