Doom 3's window focus

Doom 3 appears to be forced on top, since when I try to alt-tab into other programs, Doom 3 is still there, sans sound and control, and the taskbar appears. Is there a way to make Doom 3 minimize, or at least get off main focus, so if I need to alt-tab to check something, e.g. someone IMs me, or if I'm checking a walkthrough, I don't have to quit first?

Ctrl-Alt-Esc i think i used when i played. but your gun will fire continuosly if ctrl is your fire key :P
