vomited_anal_tract Posted February 10, 2006 What would you say is the easiest program for making WADs? I am a beginner and am confused by the complexity of these programs. Will I just have to deal with it or is there hope for beginners like me? 0 Share this post Link to post
sundar Posted February 11, 2006 If you mean map editors, then I'd say Doom Builder. It comes for free, it's very easy to use and there's a tutorial by Dr. Sleep which explains almost everything the editor can do. So if you read it completely, you'll know almost everything, although you'lll have to learn a few things on your though(like level designing). As you make more maps, you'll learn though. 0 Share this post Link to post
ellmo Posted February 11, 2006 ZETH... easiest to learn, quickest to work and very accurate. It has some outraging bugs, but saving your map a lot, and making backups from time to time, will keep your suicidal thoughts a few steps away. Only thing is, that you'd have to use an external NodeBuilder, as ZETH doesn't come with one. 0 Share this post Link to post
TheDarkArchon Posted February 11, 2006 ZETH's major flaw is that it's for ZDoom only. 0 Share this post Link to post

Torn Posted February 11, 2006 Doom Builder. :P At Doom Builder's website there is also a newbie tutorial. 0 Share this post Link to post

Ismaele Posted February 11, 2006 I use WadAuthor, but it is a little outdated; so I would suggest Doom Builder, that I know is as easy as WadAuthor but much more powerful than this one! 0 Share this post Link to post
Cadman Posted February 11, 2006 I use the latest version of Deepsea for all my editing purposes. I personally find it very easy to use and it contains everything I need to edit my Doom, Doom2, Final Doom, Hexen and Heretic maps. Of course I'm sure someone on this forum will say that you to "pay" for Deepsea, which is very true. For me, it's worth every penny being constantly updated is a plus. DoomBuilder is a great editor and I have no complaints with it, I just prefer Deepsea. Cadman 0 Share this post Link to post
