What if they just genetically engineered farm animals with minimal brains? That way they won't consciously feel anything and just be big meat plants. Everybody wins!

Now I'm going to think bad every time I eat a wiener.

There is something very wrong in that statement, but I can't quite figure out what it is. ;)

I can still eat my steak this evening without caring. That animation did absolutely nothing (correction: I lol'd)

Yes, I realize that something had to die in order to sustain me. I realize that by the time the food reaches my mouth, it's had plenty of time to collect bacteria. Yawn!

99.9% of bacteria is harmless, is my understanding. It's the deadly .1% that gets you, along with viruses, which are resistant against antibiotics and pretty much anything else you throw at them. Ironically, the less we expose ourselves to bacteria in our sterilized society, the more susceptible we become to them. We have to build up an immunity in order to survive against something.

and that is? anti-kkkorporatism? morally driven anti-omnivorism? If people are worried about hormones and antibiotics in their animal products, nothing short of their own will is stopping them from not eating/using them.

From the thread title I thought this was going to be about a porn version of The Matrix.

Disappointment ensues.

It was pretty funny but it sort of dragged on. As long as it tingles those tastebuds just right, I don't care much where my food comes from.

Also, slightly related, I hate Jamie Oliver.

Heh, that plus a Meatrix animation that might get them into the subject.

Luckily, upstate NY does not suffer from this problem, as we support our local farmers by purchasing their products. Of course, we do have factory farms, but they are far from "livelyhood destroying".

While I totally agree with that statement made by this surprisingly funny cartoon, I love meat and there's not really anything I can do to change how it arrives on my doorstep.

Actually I think they are taking a slightly different route to the same end. They are engineering people to have minimal brains. That way they won't consciously think about anything. Everyone wi.. ummm, Everyone loo... ummm... I dunno.

I think KFC is already doing stuff like that.

That's just one of those many urban myths that make people shit themselves.
