Mus files

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've been creating my own Doom Wad's for a while now. There's just one thing I don't understand. Where can I find the original Doom mus-files. When I create my own level it just has the music of the level entry I use. I want to use the music of E2M8 in other levels. Can somebody please help me?

The mus files are all in your original IWAD (doom.wad) A lump management tool (XWE, DeePSea, Wintex) can extract them for you. You are looking for the lump called d_e2m8.

Now I've tried it out, but I can't get it to work. How do you copy a music from the original Doom wad into your own wad with XWS. I managed to do it once, but after that my level just kept crashing. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.

Dont use XWE for sometime copying entries. Use Wintex. Just open the doo wad you want and the wad you want to copy the entries into, then goto the Doom wad with the msuic, highlight the entries you wand and then go EDIT -> Copy Entries. Now goto the target wad and do EDIT -> Paste Entries. make sure you save before closing your wad. Sometimes wintex doesnt autosave after you paste.
