Bucket Posted March 22, 2006 A little bit ago, I had the idea of creating an A To Z list of movies. The challenge is to have the best representation of movies across the board (genre-wise as well as other things) with one for each letter. Arachnophobia Brain Candy Cube Donnie Darko The Empire Strikes Back Fargo The Godfather Help! Iron Giant Jacob's Ladder Kung Fu Hustle LOTR Extended Trilogy A Mighty Wind Night of the Living Dead Office Space pi Quiz Show Real Genius Saving Grace Tapeheads U-Turn Very Bad Things What Dreams May Come X-Men 2 Yes: Live in Philadelphia 1979 Zorro, the Gay Blade I'd switch one out if I found another movie that was more accessible or better representative of a genre. Another thing to keep in mind is if a particular genre or era is represented well enough already (for example, it'd be great if I could whittle down the "irreverent comedy" to make room for a romantic comedy or slasher). So, any suggestions? 0 Share this post Link to post

Technician Posted March 22, 2006 I found Walk the Line very over rated. We have goth kids up here listening to Johnny Cash now. 0 Share this post Link to post
alexz721 Posted March 23, 2006 Overrated because it got people listening to Cash? Maybe as a movie, yes, but hell, I don't mind Johnny Cash getting more popular because of it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted March 23, 2006 I thought his cover of Hurt did that. At any rate, he doesn't need to cover modern bands for the appeal of songs like Long Black Veil to be apparent. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gokuma Posted March 24, 2006 Addams Family Bringing Out the Dead Clockwork Orange Duel Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Falling Down Great Escape Hunted (with Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio Del Toro, but the one with Christopher Lambert was good too) Interview with the Vampire Juon: The Grudge Kill Bill Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels Mean Guns Neighbors One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest Phantasm Q, John (John Q) Raging Bull (oh oops I never saw this. I was thinking of Taxi Driver) Shaolin Soccer Tom Yum Goong Ung-Bak V for Vendetta Willow Xuedizi (Flying Guillotine, haven't seen it and not related to Master of FG, but looks like it's probably good) Ying xiong (Hero, which my Kung Fu sifu and sister both recommended but I haven't seen yet) Zatoichi 0 Share this post Link to post
