Semper Fi Posted April 14, 2006 For weapon sounds I was wondering, how do i take sounds from another game. I want the sound to sound just like it is in that game, not like it was recorded with a microphone, is there any software that will do this? 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted April 14, 2006 XWE can open and let you browse the main data files of just about any popular game. From there all you have to do is select "lumps" and export them. What game did you have in mind? 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted April 14, 2006 I'm not familiar with the data files of that particular game, but I'm sure a search on Google will provide you with some sort of editor or viewer that will let you export graphics, sounds, music, whatever. 0 Share this post Link to post
Semper Fi Posted April 15, 2006 What about Half Life 1, Counter Strike, or any of the Half life 1 series 0 Share this post Link to post
wildweasel Posted April 15, 2006 For any Quake or HL-based game (including Counter-Strike - warning though, CS resources are largely frowned upon due to their overusage), look up PakExplorer on Google. XWE supports many games as well. For everything else, there are other types of ripping programs out there - Dragon UnPacker, Game Audio Player, etc. 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted April 15, 2006 Yes, XWE will let you view and export things from pak files (sounds, models, sprites) and HL wad files (textures). 0 Share this post Link to post
