Not sure; some of those spammy anti-spyware apps can be registered, and most of them suck, often providing a misleading service.

For those who haven't encountered it, it's not just a useless anti-spyware program. SpyAxe is one of the most notorious pieces of spyware out there.

Somebody managed to get SpyFalcon (a variant of SpyAxe) on my parents' computer that I built for them only 4 days earlier. I think there actually is a way to register it, even if all it does is remove the spyware it put on there.

I considered just pirating the registered version of it but I decided to format over it since there wasn't anything on it anyway.
